Overall, we're happy with Westwood. The only reason for the 4-star rating is the wait time to speak to someone, typically 15-30 minutes. The representatives are always nice and very helpful. The only suggestion I have is that if you have homeowners insurance to make sure your dwelling cost is high enough. I looked at our most current premium statement and it was far lower that what I expected. I did call, they re-ran the numbers for dwelling and we needed higher coverage. (Just don't assume this is done from year to year. Stay on top of it.) I also was able to increase our deductible. With those two changes, our premium only slightly increased from the previous quote. They are, by far, much more inexpensive than the major carriers (that I won't mention here) from whom I also got quotes.

I have to agree with the reviewers that give this company one star. You can’t get someone on the phone and you can’t get an answer to an email either.

They tell you that you can provide an alarm monitoring certificate and get a discount on your insurance, but you never hear back from them with regard to that.

There are also homeowners in my neighborhood who had property damage from hurricane Helene who have not been helped.

Now, if you don’t read your policy to see that you have a, say, $2500 deductible, I guess that’s on you. However, the way it was explained was that between Westwood and the Ryan sponsored HOA - in my community anyway - you’re basically covered. This is not true.

Do your due diligence, everyone, and get an insurance policy you can depend upon.

Stay away from this Agency! They are high priced and when I tried canceling, calling them led me into a loop of automated messages. When I tried sending a letter Certified Mail, Signed Receipt to the address on file, it came back as Undeliverable.

Check the reviews!! This company has the worst customer service ever. I am looking into reporting them to the insurance commissioner of CA and FL.
They were easy to reach when I needed to change insurance companies and they could get paid-- except they never coordinated or communicated with my mortgage company or me and so my mortgage company has charged he $8000 for new insurance !! Even though I have a policy thru Westwood with effective of MAY 25, 2024 ... So for months I've been trying to get someone to call me or did this but instead I get nothing except to sit on hold for hours.
This company is fine if you never actually need ANYTHING, or if your mortgage company NEVER NEEDS proof of insurance — so beware!!! I wish i had read and heeded the reviews !!

Russell was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He offered information that we were not aware of to help us make an informed decision about our new auto policy. And he suggested policy limits higher than what we already had with expert rationale and details. He was a tremendous help in getting us new auto and umbrella policies without stress - and with a certainty that we got the best policy for our specific insurance needs. Terrible company. I cancelled the home insurance but my mortgage company accidentally sent then a check anyway. Trying to get the refund now for 3 months. They play a shell game between QBE/MSI and Westwood, pretending no one knows what's going on, or IT issues.

Always a pleasure to work with Westwood. I've used their services in my last two new homes in two different states. Fair quotes and rates based on your history, geo area etc...
They save you the hassle of calling around trying to find the best rates and dealing with all the calls and emails.
One stop shop; it's what a busy person, family or couple needs.

I think I am being generous in giving a one. Dropped us from insurance after flying a drone to see branches on our roof without alerting us. Was on hold for 3 hours trying to speak to a representative but they never answered the phone. I don't know how this is even legal.
