For starters, if you look at their 5 start reviews, they are from Ameriprise's and their own site! We had a terrible experience not only with them but also with Ameriprise (whom they are affiliated with).

We used their services for a few years after being recommended by a colleague. In summary, their performance was consistently way below market (like half the return). When when confronted we were given complete BS answers. Our Vanguard fund outperformed them year-over-year by FAR! And although they claim to be fiduciaries charging assets under management fees only that is NOT the reality. We trusted them only to find out that they will have us unnecessarily on a huge number of positions (commissions), on products / funds that were presented as great (more commissions) and liquid investments when in reality they were nothing but.
I still have positions that I am trying to liquidate. Additionally, Ameriprise is a disaster. I took us months, countless phone calls and a complaint filed with Better Business Bureau for them to complete the transfer of our funds. We have since been managing our money in a simple 3 fund portfolio with better results, more simplicity and a fraction of the cost. These people are not worth anybody's trust and money.

Do yourself a favor and open a Vanguard or Fidelity account, follow guys online like the Boggleheads, Rob Berger or Tae Kim and do it yourself. YOU CAN DO IT! Stop paying these crooks 1% of your money for them to make money at your expense while you accumulate huge opportunity and real losses. Nobody will manage your money better than you and remember that 80% of active management portfolios underperform !
