Our family drove from Houston to float the river. After driving around trying to note the "no stopping" signs everywhere, we finally figured out what appeared to be the spot the city was providing to unload one's river equipment and children near the public access entrance to the river. After unloading our five children and a ton of heavy supplies on the grass, a lady from this business came out to tell us we were on property she owned and had to move immediately.

We told her we thought we were in the appropriate spot to unload. Sorry to have got it wrong. Asked her to give us five minutes to reload and tie our raft back on our roof.

She went inside and we proceeded to gather up our cooler, multiple dry goods containers, pump, 7 life jackets, 7 tubes, 7 water bottles, 2 plastic buckets, and paddles that we had unloaded onto some grass nearby the public access steps.

She came back out and went ballistic. Threatened the police. Was unbelievably rude, impatient, and inappropriately aggressive with us as a family just trying to have a day out with the kids.

I calmly explained that when she told us as tourists that we were in the wrong spot for unloading that we had already unloaded our gear which obviously was going to take a few minutes to reload. I also explained that the reason we were trying to unload on that side of the street is because we have children who would otherwise have to run across the street at the top of the hill in the midst of heavy traffic (and blind to cars approaching the top of the hill).

She didn't care. Just yelled and yelled and threatened the police. The lady here is what people describe as a "Karen," much as I dislike calling people that.

She acted like we were repeat offenders. What she should have done was patiently and kindly redirected out-of-town tourists to the appropriate spot and given us a few minutes to comply. Anyone who treats tourists with such rudeness is no one I would want to work with as an insurance agent.

My whole policy was messed up and I am now dealing with consequences six months later. I had to change agents because this company became my agent and then would not return any of my calls to help me get the items I needed for my company. They promised they had connections and could get me cargo insurance when I needed it but could not deliver and then stopped responding to me. If you are able to, go direct. A lot of these agents will tell you anything to become your agent but getting them to do their job as your agent is almost impossible, then you have to wait a certain amount of time to get a new agent and cycle repeats itself.

My family has had insurance with them for years. Locally owned. Lots of different insurance companies to get car and home policies through. Ladies in the office are very friendly & helpful!
