I made a huge mistake and gave incorrect information. I was treated professionally and at the same time representatives were so nice and understanding. No nasty attitudes, just genuine concern. My issue was rectified promptly. I'm still in awe of my treatment. I am beyond grateful. Such a pleasure, because I was a mess. I was so upset about my error. I think I called 5 times. Every call each representative seemed to get nicer and nicer. Wonderful experience. Even the emails from the help desk.

My experience with this company has been unsatisfactory. I have been trying for a month to get my funds that they are holding transferred into my current 401K with no luck. I have called three times, emailed four times, all to no avail. They do not respond to emails, have not followed through with their promises made during phone conversations and I am still without my funds five weeks later. I'm looking into filing a formal complaint.
Update 03/07/2025 - while Penchecks has responded on this platform to my complaint, they have not bothered to contact me in any way regarding processing my request to have my money rolled over into my current 401K, nor has my money been transferred. If you check their name on the BBB website, there is complaint after complaint after complaint of the same sort of delays as I am experiencing with them. Until my money is transferred out of their account into mine, I will continue to pursue lodging a formal complaint against this company.
Update 03/11/2025 - After yet another phone conversation with yet a different representative of Penchecks I learn for the first time that they wanted a copy of my driver's license and social security card. Not once during my previous three conversations with two different reps was i asked for this info. Why? It's as if they keep dangling the hope of getting this resolved and then...Oops...there's more info we need further delaying completion of this debacle. I have spoken to a rep from the company administering my current 401(k) that I want Penchecks to transfer my funds into, and she can't understand why this is so difficult. She also advised that they wouldn't request a copy of my driver's license. She said it should be a pretty straightforward transfer from Penchecks to my current 401(k) company. And yet, it isn't. Stay far, far away from this company.
UPDATE 03/25/2025 - After two weeks of waiting for Penchecks to process the transfer of our funds to my 401(k) company, I have heard nothing from Penchecks, nor are the funds showing up in my 401(k). So, on 03/24/2025, I contacted Penchecks by phone again (5th time) and got one of the reps I had spoken to previously. He cheerily informed me that the check had been mailed to my 401(k) company on 03/20/2025. I had requested that they send the check certified (which they charged me $30 for after saying they would waive the charge as a courtesy for the delays), so I asked for the tracking number. After a lot of hemming and hawing, Chris finally gave me a tracking number. I immediately put it in to USPS tracking on line, and it comes up as a pre-shipment status, which means USPS has not even received the check yet, four days after they said they mailed it! I checked again today, five days after they said they mailed it, and surprise, surprise, it's still showing pre-shipment status. They have not mailed the check. If you read the other complaints, this is a common tactic of theirs. They stall by asking for more personal info every time you call to find out where your money is, or they say your money is lost in the mail. At this point, I am filing a formal complaint with the appropriate agencies in both NJ and CA. I am now two months, five phone calls, and numerous emails into this nightmare with this company. If you read their response to my last update, they claim that my 'distribution was submitted for processing almost a month ago. Either someone is very bad at their job or Penchecks is fibbing.

The customer service staff is so friendly and helpful. It is so nice to be able to talk to a person that is friendly and nice. So many customer service are rude and don't want to help. PenChecks is the complete opposite. Thank you for being so helpful and understanding. Keep up the great customer service.

I have tried to either rollover or cash out an old account with them for six months with no success. Customer service has zero motivation to be helpful. Should really be fraudulent. I'll be calling the SC Dept of Consumer Affairs if my money is not in my account within 24 hours.
