Never invest money with Nuveen. I have never dealt with such an abysmal process with a company as trying to gain access to my own account - which Nuveen never disclosed to me and often refused to give me information about (it would have most likely gone to the state had I not found out about it).

I have had to:
Fill out long forms of paperwork and mail it all in, if there was an error the process had to be repeated
Go back and forth constantly with the customer service (over a dozen phone calls), with the phone calls usually ending in no new information. The customer service telling me they would call me back and never calling me back
Get a medallion signature from the bank, but Nuveen refused to give me my account statement needed for that signature
Get a notary for more paperwork, which then Nuveen questioned if it was original. Declined the notary and had to be repeated.
I called 4 times to ask if the paperwork had to be resent in, each time they said no, and then after a few weeks they called me back and told me to resend in the paperwork (because they denied the notary), I then had to cancel moving because of this.
After telling me everything was okay, no medallion signature was needed, no other forms were needed and they would send out a check. I waited a week and called back and then they told me I needed another Medallion signature
The above was repeated again with other papers!

This was all part of the process for gaining access to my own money which I still haven't gained access to. Nuveen constantly stalled the process or caused problems. They refused paperwork for a misspelling and refused to explain to my sister why they were refusing paperwork. One lady said processing would refuse because I signed electronically and that I didn't sign with a pen. One customer service lady kept asking the same list of security questions multiple times during the same phone call (she rejected the answers which were the right answers during the other phone calls). When my father was alive he wasn't even sure how much he had on his nuveen accounts because he could not gain information or access to them. I accidentally discovered my inherited accounts, nuveen never informed me of them or disclosed them to me. Nuveen customer service every time wasn't sure what was going on with my account and would tell me different information. I can log into my other brokerage account and gain access to my money in under a minute. With Nuveen, I have not been able to after 5 months! Nuveen if you see this review, please know I have still not been able to gain access to my account and money after talking to the customer service almost daily over the past few weeks.
