We were told that we needed a new roof otherwise our policy would not renew even though one roofer said that our roof was "fine". He would even provide a letter indicating that the roof would be good for "10 years", but this apparently was not good enough for Farmers.

Nonetheless, we obtained a contract to have the roof replaced only to be then told that the underwriter now required photos of the completed roof. To be clear, our agent (Robyn) never said this requirement in our prior conversations because the underwriter changed the requirements after we submitted the contract for a new roof. She confirmed this fact in an email to us.

I do not believe this is how an insurance company, or insurance agency, should act. Changing requirement for policy renewal is not only unethical and dishonest, but it may be fraudulent, and this agency hides behind the excuse that "we can only do what our underwriters tell us to do".

So, why have an agent who is powerless when it comes to the changing requirements of a dishonest insurance company?

There are better, more honest, and more competent insurance companies to meet one's insurance needs. We encourage all to consider our experience with this insurance agency before using this agency for any of your insurance needs.

UPDATE (10/4/2023)
We spoke to Farmers Insurance. Their policy regarding repairs for renewal changed "1-2 years ago". Apparently, Robyn provided outdated and incorrect information that led to our policy being cancelled. We did exactly what Robyn told us to do, and we were directly hurt because of her and this agency.
