I wouldnāt recommend this company to anyone. In fact I will ensure everyone I know hears my experience with this company thus far.
On 9/17 I was injured at work for my first time in approximately 11 years that I needed workmanās comp for. I was connected with a case worker āYvonneā who went over the details on how the workmanās comp process is going to work out. She advised that I need to keep her up to date for every step of the process or they could delay disbursements. Which is obviously fine and understandable.
I made my appointment with my local doctor for an MRI on 10/2 for the next available apt on 10/9 for 6p as I was directed not to drive after the appointment from my doctor. Yvonne was notified on 10/2 like directed that my appointment was setup for 10/9. This is when Yvonneās attitude changed with me. Yvonne urged me to attempt to find an alternative MRI center for to speed up the process which again I understand.
I contacted a few other centers even though they were quite far away, but by the time my ride would get off of work, none of them were optimal for transportation.
Moving on, Yvonne continued to call me every workday thereafter where I initially answered her calls and spoke to her even though she knew there was no changes. Yvonne was condescending and basically attempting to guilt trip me every time she called for me to find another location.
The following week, Monday (remember, appointment is on Wednesday) she continues to call more. Now on Tuesday (morning before appointment), I received a message from my boss who stated that I need to report to work immediately. When I came to work, I was accused of not responding to EMC insurance because Yvonne called and threatened to withhold funds. I informed my employer that I did intact keep Yvonne updated and that she has only been calling to try to get me to drive somewhere else which was a impossible situation for me which they understood and even questioned why she needed to call everyday instead like normal, I would contact her if I was able to find something that worked better.
After leaving work, I contacted EMC insurance and asked to speak with Yvonneās supervisor who I believe was named Jason because I wanted to make a complaint. They said he was in, but I only was able to leave a voicemail in which I left my name and phone number for him to return my call.
Yesterday, now having my MRI results, I was contacted by Yvonne and I provided her the results to the MRI and what the next step is in the process of my injury. Before getting off the phone, Yvonne made a statement that she āKnows I contacted her supervisorā and claimed she was just trying to help me get in faster and she needs to be updated on whatās going on. I have no ambition to argue with her over the phone in front of my children so I ended the call cordially. The supervisor never reached out to me.
If this is what you expect from your insurance company, be my guest, go with them. If I had the choice, I surely wouldnāt choose a company as unethical and unprofessional as EMC insurance.
