My father has been insured with David Tofig as his agent for a few years now. For the most part he’s only had 1 vehicle fully covered, but ever since last year he had another vehicle added. Once he added the new vehicle, he was advised to not have both cars fully covered since they were both old cars (10+ years old) and it would be an idiotic decision to do so. Following this advice, he decided to have the first car be one way while the recently added car be fully covered. After a recent accident with the newly added car, it turns out both cars were put under one way. When we called David to tell him about this mistake ON HIS PART he tells us that he wasn’t the one who made this change, which doesn’t make sense since we only ever talk to him when it comes to our insurance. When we asked who did make the change, he didn’t give us a clear answer, throwing out a couple names of employees at the office that we had not spoken to. He then sent us in circles by giving us numbers to call who did not have the power to help us in this situation, trying to get rid of this problem from his side. We have called his office with 3 different numbers, and still no word from David himself. I myself left a voicemail as well as given a message to one of the employees at his office to have David call me back, it’s been 5 days and he still hasn’t gotten back to any of us. It is really important to note that my father isn’t good at speaking and understanding English, so David avoiding this mistake really makes it seem like he took advantage of a client that didn’t know better. My father trusted David, but it looks like David abused this trust. David is a good agent right up until something goes wrong, then he absolutely ghosts you. Do NOT work with David Tofig.

Total disaster dealing with Tofig Insurance agency!
I decided to cancel my auto & condo policies with this agency, after they raised my auto premium by 50%. I called the office to negotiate potential reduction, but heard "not to worry, all insurances are raising their premiums", and a "lecture" of how it will be with another insurance companies. But "fun" began with the cancellation. David demanded my new insurance policy declarations based on his wish (not required by Allstate policy or California law), or he will not cancel my policy and threatened to submit me to Debt Collection agency, if I don't pay renewal. That's a nice approach! It took some time with Allstate customer service to straighten this up, who said that some agents might require to provide continuation policy declarations, just didn't explain based on what?
No suggestions on my part, just my experience with Tofig Insurance!

We have been very happy with our experience with the Tofig insurance agency. After years at State Farm, where we had been passed on to a new agent who never contacted us, (for years), we came to Allstate and the Tofig agency through a referral by our son. I went down to the office, met with Josh Tofig, and subsequently purchased auto and umbrella insurance. Through the years, if we had a question or needed help, we have primarily talked to Josh. He went way beyond the call of duty when we had problems with a windshield replacement on our car. He really came through for us. We have a personal relationship with a great guy, who always has our back. We highly recommend the David Tofig Allstate insurance agency. Frank and Maureen Yrigoyen

Great customer service and knowledgable staff. Pricing is comparable to other reputable insurance companies. Only 4 instead of 5 stars because for automatic payments, whatever banking or payment processing system they use, the payment is not paid through the bank on the day payment is due. For those of us that aren't good at budgeting, that poses a problem. Your auto policy will show paid on the date payment is made, however, the bank doesn't deduct the amount for about 3 days. I know it's not my bank because the previous insurance carrier we used deducted the payment from my account on the date the auto payment was processed. Other than that, definitely recommend. David Tofig is nice and easy to work with.

Allstate facilitated our home insurance switch over to a third party carrier last year so we lost our bundle discount. They failed to correct the omission of my name from the policies and only kept my husband's name on it. On top of that, our premium increased almost 50% when they renewed our policy, but they failed to communicate the exponential increase. When we decided to switch due to the price gauging, Joshua and David Tofig were both difficult and negligent in providing clear cancellation instructions/follow up which resulted in customer dissatisfaction and delayed resolution. David did not uphold professional communication and resorted to berating me- calling his customer 'insane human being' and 'evil' and proceeded to threaten legal actions if I do not remove my reviews regarding his conduct, our experiences and services. Squelching my online/social media reviews, violate my consumer rights in accordance with the Consumer Review Fairness Act, protected by the FTC.

Avoid this Allstate branch/agency- they are nice when you first pay into the insurance and as long as you continue to pay their constant increase premiums, but you'll quickly find out that they will continue to extract more money, lack professionalism and become contentious.

My experience with this Allstate agency has always been awesome!

Whenever I call I am answered by a friendly and knowledgeable agent who is always prepared to answer my questions. And sometimes they are incredibly silly questions because who actually understands insurance?

Mike is great! When I needed to insure my first car that wasn't a third hand me down, he explained everything in words that were easy to understand. When I needed renter's insurance he not only helped me understand what I was doing, but he got it taken care of *that day* so that I could sign the lease for my new apartment ASAP. I especially appreciate his sense of humor. It is so much easier to talk to an insurance agent when they joke and chat like a friend instead of being impersonation and business-like.

Seriously, what insurance company sends you a personal birthday and holiday card every year? An awesome insurance company!

Some necessary calls are stressful, but calls to David's Allstate agency are never stressful. I can't imagine giving my business to any other insurance company.

The Tofigs Allstate office has insured my cars and home for over 40 years. Always with the quickest and very satisfying response for all my questions and my accident repairs, at very reasonable rates. Also very thorough to hear and resolve all my concerns. Doug
