They lie, steal and cheat. Slowest credit union ever so ridiculous bank tellers are not trained to do anything but cash a check everything else you have to sit and wait a ridiculous amount of time for a simple password change. Ridiculous when the atm clearly states it will take 1 business day to recieve funds but they hold the funds for 3 or more business days. They caused me to starve for 3days and not make rent. Would of NEVER cashed my check if you were going to hold my funds for that long... thanks for lying, stealing, and cheating me... even 3 business days later after you responded I still don't have my funds you are liars. Unhonest people

Not a member here but they recently helped me resolve what would have otherwise been a very costly fraud issue. I can't express how nice it was to connect with an employee there who was able to help me get it resolved.

I’ve been a member with Coosa pines for 3 years now and I just had a wonderful experience that confirms why they are the best. I was serviced with Genita the member service representative. When my mom and I walked in I could tell she is a wonderful Christian woman. Her office was so decorated with lovely scriptures and everything was so nice and need. She helped me move money from my savings into a new CD. She was quick to tell me the summer deals they had. She educated me on understanding more about my CD I had not know! When you go to Coosa Pines ask for Genita!! You won’t be disappointed!!! ☺️

I recently moved to Chelsea and stopped by the local Coosa Pines branch to open an account but I was dissuaded by some bizarre policies...

First, they require a hard credit inquiry to establish membership, even to a open a deposit account. Their reasoning was to "identify" the members but I've never heard of any financial institution doing this. I worked in BSA/KYC compliance for a major bank for many years and can say with 100% confidence that there are many other options to verify new customers' identities. FinCen-mandated KYC questionnaires and ChexSystems background checks provide more than ample data for a financial institution to identify and risk-assess new customers. If I had to guess, they probably (unofficially) require the credit check to guide new members into taking out a loan. This sounds like questionable lending practices at best.

Secondly, they charge nominal monthly service fees for customers who establish and maintain multiple checking accounts. I use the Dave Ramsey (ish) method for budgeting but I don't like to carry cash, so I maintain 4 separate checking accounts for each category. My current credit union uses suffixes to distinguish sub-accounts of the Share Draft (member) account and assigns debit cards for each sub-account, so I know this can be accomplished easily. The average daily balance across all my checking accounts is over $5k so the Credit union would benefit from my business without the fees, especially considering the low cost of servicing subaccounts in a Credit Union, and the high upside potential when they loan my money out in this high-interest environment with 0% reserve ratios.

Lastly and most importantly, they have indefinitely discontinued their annual members' meetings. Since credit unions are owned by their members, I would expect regular access to the senior leadership through the annual members' meeting. They cancelled due to COVID but still haven't re-instated it yet (As of 12/11/2022). Every big corporation has been holding remote shareholder's meetings via Zoom etc during the pandemic. Why is this institution different? If I had to guess, the senior leadership is probably using COVID as an excuse to avoid accountability to their shareholders.

On the upside, the people who work in the Chelsea branch were nice and pleasant. I still wouldn't do business with them, though.
