BCBS of Illinois reps are horrible!!! THE WORST!!!! Half of them don’t know how to do their job, the other half hang up on you. Do they not have supervisors? My dog would make a better rep!!! I call them everyday for my job and there is nobody to complain to ( they will never transfer to a supervisor) and they make every day miserable for me!! Someone needs to be auditing their calls! I would NEVER recommend this ins to anyone based upon their reps! If I could have given this negative stars I would have! Do better BCBS !!! Are you just getting warm bodies to fill seats with no training or what?!!!

Absolutely disgusting insurance company!!! First they helped me find and connect a family doctor (PCP) in my network. They sent insurance cards by mail, where the name of this doctor is indicated. And today they sent bills for visits to this doctor!!! Although visits should be 100% covered by insurance.
And they wrote that they do not have a file with PCP neither for me nor for my husband! Perhaps we will resolve this issue, but it takes a lot of time and nerves!! Never use their services!!! Grade: zero!

I have had BCBS PPO for over 25yrs as a first responder. I had a CT scan ordered by my Dr for severe abdominal pain and BCBS IL is deliberately delaying the approval of a diagnostic test. I have never had this happen in the previous 25yrs. Without a doubt, the person I spoke with "Ashley" has a problem with my line of work. BCBS does not support first responders.

If I could give negative stars I would. I specifically asked if my doctors were in network. I was informed in writing they were. Now I am told they are not. Lab work is not being covered. It seems more labs are covered in Missouri and Indiana than
Cook County. Customer Service is useless. Avoid at all cost. Illegal Bait and switch con artists.

Utterly useless, won’t cover anything, website features don’t work (you can’t even select a pcp) you’d think with all the money they make off us they’d be able to provide a functioning site.. but why would they? They get the money either way, why bother providing a service?

Customer service is also pathetic, after three separate calls (totaling over 2 hours) my issues still remain unresolved. At this point I’ve given up.

An absolute scam that deters the user from seeking medical help. They claim ‘out of network’ even when I visit my pcp. They won’t even cover basic tests, 850 bucks for a blood test? It is absolutely vile to take advantage of people when they are sick, when they are at their most desperate.. I don’t know how these rich monsters live with themselves.

How long will we let these companies exploit us

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois continues to deny a simple claim for HCA reimbursement. They use the technicalities of codes to not pay or to stall on qualified expenses. They know what the codes should be to reimburse if it was left off a receipt...This is what these spending and reimbursement accounts are for. I would give them a 1 star but I suppose they are better than UnitedHealth. Do you remember that catastrophe ... and wonder why other Insurance giants like BCBS did not learn a lesson from that BCBS of Illinois Executives are taking all our denied claims money that add up to about 500 million a year in their salaries. It’s quite sickening 😡

I picked them up last month on the feb28th today is March 14th!!!! That’s 2 weeks But the insurance is saying I should still have some from a few months ago when I picked up 2 days early!!! Lmfaoooooooooo they are the most dumbest and laziest and most ignorant ass ppl on the phone!!!! I have a 1 yr old who I need to take care of. And now I won’t be due to my insurance not covering me!!! Never switch to this insurance! They need to shut down! And I will find a way to shut them down

I have so many things to say about this insurance and not the first bit is good. I have stage 3 lung cancer and they refuse to play for my chemo. First I had to get a third party to ok my chemo drugs then the insurance will not ok the chemo treatments. You can never talk with someone directly withe insurance. It's all 2nd and third party
Even the phone number do not go directly to insurance company only to second party. When you talk to the 2nd party it's all a run around, telling me the doctor needs to call them directly. Now how many doctor have time to get claims straight for these insurance companies. Do they even know why people lose there minds and want to hurt someone. Let's see I can not have chemo and die or have chemo paid for by me not the insurance I pay for each week and not eat or be in debt for the rest of my life. I wish I did have to leave any star because this company isn't even a 1!!!!
