Love BCU! Tellers are always super polite. Was with Wells Fargo for 20 plus years before I switched and wish I would have done it years ago. It feels like they truly care about you and your money.

I've been a member of BCU for about 6 years now. It was great the first three years with rates and how understanding they were compared to any regular bank. However, over the last three years, they have been awful. It's so difficult to get car loans that they ask to provide three years of proof of income, while other banks require only two years. I've seen the customer service go down workers are rude and have no solutions to any problems. I would also be aware also if you make an LLC account through here they will randomly transfer money into your personal while your business account is supposed to be its entity it is not. If you are behind on any payments with them they will withdraw from any account with money in it that has your name attached even If it's not under your name. I have no privacy here I've seen many times fraud come out of my account and have no solutions with this bank. I will be canceling all my accounts and many of my family members that belong here also are moving over to a new credit union. The standards of being at this credit union have gone way down in recent years I will be moving on as this place is horrible. I would suggest Advia Credit Union, and Consumer Credit Union prior to coming to this establishment.

Restricted my account because I’m black he judged me thinking I was trying to commit fraud with my OWN identity and using my OWN businesses.

I’ve been with this credit union for less than a month and before I transferred all my accounts here I wanted to see what I could qualify for so…

I applied for a personal loan and a auto loan both denied he said I used to different employers I OWN multiple High six figure businesses in McHenry County IL it’s my choice which one I decide to put on an application so he flagged my account for unusual activity and made me submit all my tax IDs and everything to prove I own these business I pay HIGH taxes in McHenry county and I’m personally offended I worked hard to get where I am today and to be judged by the color of my skin is completely unacceptable.

I know your credit union won’t reprimand him but I wanted to make it clear to anyone thinking about joining this credit union they will judge you based on your skin color.

This credit Union absolutely sucks at managing your Privacy much less money. Apparently they said they made an accounting error of $1349.00 in Feb/March 2024 and now in October they made my account NEGATIVE -$1349.00 and said I owe them the money. My Gosh, your a bank. How do you make an accounting error for that much & that long? Prior to that, I was separated from my husband and they were Putting my money and the exes money To the wrong accounts. Luckily, the ex and I were on good terms and made the Immediate correction ourselves And informed the bank to stop doing it. They’re system sucks or they’re complete IDIOTS!!!

I used to have a car loan with them, but when I paid off the loan, they never took care of the title transfer, and still refuse to complete the transfer to fulfill their obligation. They are completely irresponsible.

When arriving at the crystal lake BCU bank looking for a car loan Maira Zuniga was happy to help even after filling in for her coworkers who is away having a child from another location. She was able to help me find out what rate I could get before walking into the dealership being able to get the best price possible.
