Barnett Waddingham have to be at the top of my most frustrating company to deal with, ever. Communications are appaling. Every email takes a week to be replied, if at all, and you deal with a different person every time, so there's no continuity. Trying to get my lump sum allowance from my SIPP before the budget and I started the process in July. The funds still haven't been transfered, and it's now mid October! Neither have we received the lump sum allowance certificate, which means that we are likely to miss out on claiming from our other pension provider before the budget, and therefore could potentially be missing out on a chunk of tax free cash. Unbelievable lack of professionalism. I'll be moving my SIPP elsewhere ASAP.
UPDATE: Vanguard did the exact same work in 2 weeks thanks to their fantastic portal, and super helpful and friendly staff. No mention of "experiencing high volumes of requests" from them as they saw what was coming and planned well ahead. BW, you have some serious catching up to do!

Trying to transfer my partner's pension for months. Every other fund transferred seamlessly....All except Barnett "change the goalposts" Waddingham. Her money so just do what she requested. If the other providers have done so, why do you make it so difficult?

DEAR II / BW TRUSTEES

ITS TAKEN ME 8-9 WEEKS FOR ME TO RECEIVE MY MONIES FROM WTW & STANDARD LIFE.

ALL THE MONIES HAD ARRIVED BY MORNING OF 1ST MAY 2024.

IVE BEEN LIAISING WITH ii to SET UP MY LUMP SUM WITHDRAWL

THEY CANNOT DO SO AS BW HAVE NOT SPLIT UP THE FUNDS.

NUMEROUS CALLS & MESSAGES ON THE SECURED MESSAGES -NO ONE SEEMS TO REALISE THE URGENCY

IM DUE TO GO TO HEART PROCEDURE ON MONDAY AND HENCE WHY I NEEDED TO PUT IN WITHDRAWL REQUEST IN TODAY.

ARE ALL PENSION TRUSTEES INEPT?

IT WAS TIME CRITICAL AND HENCE WHY MY WITHDRAWL REQUEST HAD TO PUT IN BY 5PM TODAY.

ii STATE ITS BEEN ESCALATED AND BW ARE NOT PICKING UP PHONE !!

ITS TOTALLY PATHETIC & INEPT ON BW'S PART FOR NOT PICKING UP THE PHONE AND DEALING WITH MY URGENT REQUEST.

I TRIED CALLING BW DIRECTLY - IM NOW TOLD BW OUTSOURCE ii QUERIES TO ANOTHER TEAM

NO WONDER - TOTAL USELESS PATHETIC INEPT SERVICE.

NO ONE REALISES I NEEDED TO GET THIS DONE TODAY DUE TO MY HEALTH.

ILL HAVE NO HESITATION IN TAKING MY MONEY OUT AFTER MY HEART PROCEDURE.

This firm "manages" my spouse's pension and operates like they are back in the 1900s. No online platform to manage investment contributions / allocations. To make any changes, they have to send you a paper form by post to complete and send back. As archaic as this may seem, the truly frustrating thing is that no one who works there seems capable of being able to actually send this form. We have been waiting for weeks to complete this process and have had to phone 3 separate times.

This bureaucratic nightmare is potentially putting our money at risk.

Very poor customer service. Agent (Denisa Lungu) was unable to answer the most basic questions. She had never heard of a premium history, did not know the fund range available to the plan, and had never heard of a TER/OCF for the fund that client was invested in. Stay Away!
