I haven't had a very positive experience with this company. In order to pay solar I was forced to open a checking account. The due date had to be the 7th when I opened the account. They send out an email not explaining anything and say they can now set up auto pay for the 1st. After going back and forth with someone he finally explained they were transitioning and want auto pay to be the 1st 2nd or 3rd. I can't wish to pay this off and be done with this company.

Feels great to know our funds are being reinvested into solutions and I can make a solid 3.5% APY at the same time! We have been so happy banking with Atmos. The account set up was easy. Customer support has been friendly and helpful and debit card came quickly. Of course, most importantly, it's the only true climate bank we could find that invests all of your money in solutions and none of it and fossil fuels.

In order to make an account they made me send them a photo of my ID and a head shot then required me to do a video call with them in which they never showed up. I liked the idea of banking with a green bank but I can not honestly recommend this one to anyone after my experience just trying to open an account.

Update: An hour and a half after I was supposed to have a video call with them I got a call from their support team to set up another video call which happened immediately. They wanted to verify information I had already provided (social security number and ID) at which point they said it would be sent to their manager for activation which for a fintech seems pretty low tech... Anyway once I was finally approved I log in and the first thing they want me to do is verify my identity AGAIN with a head shot and photo of my ID (third time for those keeping count). I also notice that a savings account was opened as well as a checking account when all I signed up for was a checking account. Also no Zelle integration so needless to say I logged in and immediately closed both accounts. They wasted my time and in the end I guess I wasted theirs. Still would not at all recommend them to anyone. My partner has worked in banking for over a decade and when I told them what this process looked like they were shocked.

My checking account with Atmos has been frozen for 3 weeks, and counting. I haven’t been able to access my money at all. I’ve received false updates when I call, saying the hold will be lifted soon, but nothing happens. I really want to support them, but their restrictions are incredibly inconvenient. At this point I'm experiencing a lot of anxiety and stress wondering how long it will be until I have access to my money.

I really wanted to be able to switch to Atmos. There really are not many fossil free options. I tested with a small amount of money and I'm glad I did.

The biggest problem was switching to their new back end bank they use. I received the new debit card promptly but I was never able to activate it. It never showed in the list of cards to activate in the app. Even now, months since I received the new debit card. I lost the primary way to access my money. I never received a response to any of my support requests for this.

Get your act together. STOP sending out emails that say one thing but really mean another. What kind of company are you running? I have 0% trust in this company. One day you send an email saying my information might have been compromised then the next it's an email saying oops and that there wasn't an account opened in my name. So what is it? Like I trust you now with my money!

Excellent bank that has everything I need for online banking. Their interest ratest are the highest around, and I love that my deposits are funding only climate-positive investments. Customer service is great on the very rare occasions I have needed to use it.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I tried to do something positive for the planet by switching up my banking - I sincerely wish I hadn't done it here.

This bank just can't get it together. They are plagued with technical glitches that make me question the integrity of my money and if it's safe. Not only this they offer really poor support for solving any issues that come up (which are numerous). I would absolutely not bank with this bank again.

Even closing out my account was a huge hassle and nobody could seem to figure out what was going on. I gave them 2 stars for helping the planet, but overall this is a sketchy bank and you shouldn't trust them to handle your money appropriately.
