Complete lack of integrity and honesty towards a longtime customer. I am currently selling my home and as part of the home inspection it was found that the roof had hail damage and would need to be replaced. I reviewed my policy and noticed that there was now a 1% wind and hail deductible added to the regular flat deductible. I called Adams office, he was not available, but one of his staff offered to answer my question. She said that the 1% did not take affect until my April 2025 renewal. Because the storm took place the year prior it would fall under the old flat $1000 deductible. This was clearly great news, saving me thousands in costs. In order to make sure I heard it correctly I even called back 5 minutes later and had this confirmed again. My wife and I signed the inspection objection from the buyers BASED ON THIS NEWS and I filed the claim so we could get the roof replaced inside of our closing date. The adjuster came out and did his thing, he came back with that he could only pay ~$3,500 of this ~$11,000 dollar roof replacement, my deductible was over $7,000. This is CLEARLY not what was told to me twice at this point. I called Adam's office again. Again it was one of his staff that was available. I explained what was told to me in my prior call to the office and she said and I quote "In my 17 years of working in insurance what you were told was correct." 5 minutes later the adjuster calls them and Adam's office staff now says the change in deductible was in April of 2024, not 2025 as was told to me in the first call. Angry, I got the district managers number who called me and conducted an investigation. In that investigation Adam and his staff LIED and said they never told me that the deductible policy change occurred at the 2025 renewal. Completely failing to own up to the mistake they made, giving misleading information about the policy they manage. Costing my wife and I thousands. I have been a customer of this agency since even before Adam took it over. My trust in them at this point is zero with no chance of recovery. This was a complete failure in customer relations and care with zero accountability on Adams part.

UPDATE: In their response there is still a complete lack of owning up to the fact that we were mislead on when the policy changed costing us thousands of dollars. There was zero advocating for us on their part like they claim.

I have been with American Family for a sum total of 21 years and have never been disappointed. Prices are comparable and response time with a claim has been phenomenal! I want to particularly give a shout out to the Adam Lydick agency. Adam and his staff have been quick to respond with answers to any and all questions and issues I have had. They have incredible customer service. I have always felt heard! The only complaint I have is that American Family is not in Texas where I am moving to. Maybe someday!!

Adam has been my agent for the past few years for both my home owners policy and vehicles. He is very responsive and helpful when I have questions or changes regarding my policy. I filed a claim yesterday afternoon for hail damage to my roof from 3 months back. The adjuster came out this morning and I had a check in-hand less than 24 hours after filing the claim. I was told by multiple roofing contractors that the turnaround time for my claim was exceptionally fast- other insurance companies usually take weeks. Adam walked me through the easy claims process and was immediately available if I had questions or concerns. I highly recommend both Adam and Am Fam!
