This is correct. I did send an email asking to have my S Corporation tax return prepared. Unfortunately for me, this is the only evidence there is, which is why I never was able to fight you on this.
What you're leaving out is why I sent that very convenient information to a specific person that I didn't know before then.
I called the office first. Told the person on the phone that I needed my new business tax return prepared. She asked me if I was an S Corp, or a C Corp. My response was "I don't know", because I obviously didn't know. The Corporation was set up for me in the beginning, and I had never been asked this question before this instance. The person on the phone asked me a few questions, and they came to an assumption and said "oh, you must be an S Corp". This is what was said to me... Not that I needed to find out, or be sure, or anything like that. No indication that this was so important.
So I just figured it must be correct and based on this conversation, I had no idea it even mattered that much.
I was told to send an email to Lisa P, and tell her I needed my S Corp taxes prepared, also to include all that info as well.
So yes. I did send that email. This went 2 years without being caught by anyone. I was finally caught by a 3rd party that there was a mistake made, and they pointed out that my tax returns would need to be amended.

These people have made things very difficult for me through a simple overlooked mistake that went on for 2 years. They made an assumption without having facts on my business tax returns that affected my personal returns as well. The result ended up costing me about $18k in owed money to the IRS.
The mistake got us huge returns that we ended up having to pay back. This was money we shouldn't have gotten in the first place, but by the time it was caught after 2 years of filings, we didn't have the money to pay it back. It put us in a really bad position. It affected my business, and my personal life. It put a strain on everything for me.
They never once acknowledged any responsibility for this, and charged us to fix the problem and amend 2 years of returns. They made me feel like the mistake was my fault, but after explaining my situation with several other accountants this year, they've all said that this office should've caught this right away.

We've been using them for years prior to this issue. To be honest, I was never really impressed with them anyhow.

Look elsewhere for an accountant please.

I have been a happy customer of Rudy’s for many years referring friends- until now. He hired unqualified help during the busy season and takes no responsibility for there work.He filed in the wrong state and gave incorrect information.He apologized and then ignored me for months. He then charged me to correct there mistakes and was rude and condescending. Acts like they don’t care anymore. Please read other reviews.

I just want to give a review about my experience at Rudy’s Luevano tax. I have been going to him for about 15 years and can’t say enough good about him!! He was always so good, however, he retired and the staff there now is so rude I can’t believe it! They are nowhere near as good as Rudy!

Rudy has checked out and it shows. There is no customer service or communication. Many temporary employees Many costly errors on their part. I want to warn everyone about my bad experience. Not the company I want handling my taxes anymore.

He messed up on my fiancés taxes which didn’t allow me to claim my daughter on my taxes. Then he owned up to his mistake and said as soon as my tax return hits my account he will amend the taxes and add my daughter. Then day came and he refused to amend them right away saying I had to wait until April. Now it’s end of April and nothing was done yet. And now he his away from his office until may. Very very unprofessional! It is now May and still no word from him. His office is also unprofessional. Wouldn’t recommend him to do your taxes. First and last time I ever deal with him.

I was not going to give a review of my terrible experience because I am waiting for a call that I know now I will never get. My husband and i have been going to Rudy for 15+ years and never had an issure until we filed our 2019 taxes. After we electronicly filed our return was rejected because someone used our SS number to file already. We did everything Rudy asked us to do, file a police report, sent in a paper return, asked for a PIN number. Then a few months later find out Rudy had a data breach and that is why someone got our SS number. They kindly gave us free credit monitoring for a year. My husband had collections on his credit for cable and WiFi service in Florida after all this. So then we figure it was unfortunate but Rudy did right by us and we made an appointment for our 2020 taxes. We never received the PIN numbers but we were told by the staff "no worries we have ways around that". I even paid the $2,000 we were told we owed by April 15th. Now it is September and we get a call we left some paperwork there, we pick it up and it is our 2020 return that was rejected because someone filed under our SS AGAIN. No one from Rudy's office even called to tell us this. I pulled our phone records from 3 months after our appointment and there were no calls. Now what! Are we late? Will we be audited because of this? I emailed the office since they were closed when I found and no call back. I am gonna say we never will get a call back. We should at least get a refund for what we paid them to file our return. Please beware you'll leave with a bigger headache than if you did your taxes yourself.

Lisa Durante went into the MyTax profile for my agency (Which technically she had permission to do) BUT LISA - You did not have permission to remove me as an administrator from my own account leaving me without access (Only for a brief moment). Extremely unprofessional. I was a previous client for 30+ years. I recently left because of poor service, poor communication amongst other reasons. This was my 1st time owning a business, therefore for the $150 a month (outrageous I am finding out) I would think your staff would be a little more polite. I wasn't going to go here with this review, until today. I tried explaining to Rudy, that I felt uncomfortable when calling because Lisa is extremely rude and makes you feel like you are interrupting her day. Look I had questions, I was paying you for a service which ultimately never got fulfilled, after $1200 give or take, because I left within months of starting my business portion with you. I/We as YOUR clients are putting food on your table. How dare you make people feel uncomfortable when calling. I don't care how many questions I had. I was brand new to this. It is your job to explain to your clients the entire process, not expect people to know the answers. For the $1800 a year, for the minimal amount of work that you would've done, you should be a little friendlier and not make people feel the way you did. No matter how many times I apologized you were still rude. In hindsight, it's just your personality. And Rudy, you got just a little to big and let pride or the I could care less perspective get in the way. To let your clients walk away after 30 years of doing business with you, I explained why we were leaving and you come back with "I'm sorry you feel that way". You did not even offer any kind of resolution. Not to mention, you'd think that you were trying to contact the FBI with as difficult as it is to get through to Rudy. I am by no means a rude or unkind person, that is NOT my personality and you were aware of that. But what happened today has unfortunately prompted this review. KINDNESS IS FREE!!

Rudy's office is amazing! they have done my business taxes since 2007. I even moved out of state and still send them my info. Lisa Pederson, the business tax professional is great. . Fast, professional, reasonable priced Thxs Lisa P for all your help every year!!!
