I had a widowmaker heart attack day before Thanksgiving 2023. I was alone and had to call ambulance myself. Being a woman it started with heavy sweating, then vomiting, then feeling disoriented feeling disoriented. I was starting to have difficulty breathing. I called ambulance and had to unlock door for them and went and sat down to When they came they not only made me walk to ambulance myself, but when chest was hurting told me it was my fault for not breathing right. They said breath in through nose hold for 5 sec and out through mouth. That my chest hurt because I wasn't breathing right making it cramp up. They spent 15 minutes with me outside my place instead of driving to hospital, telling me I was having a panic attack and asking me if anything has been stressing me out! When the 4 of them finally decided to take me to hospital I was in the hall still when nurse came and put EKG on me. She told me you are actively having a heart attack! One of the guys was still nearby, I looked at him and said told you so!! Hospital then life flighted me by helicopter to Mesa since Casa Grande doesn't have a cathlab which ambulance wolong delay getting the help I needed, I'm now in both systolic and diastolic heart failureuld have known that that hospital couldn't deal with heart stuff.
Turned out I had 100% blockage of main artery! Sten t was put in but due to delay in getting treatment I'm now in both systolic and diastolic heart failure. I returned to hospital on Christmas fro Maricopa and had different ambulance company drive me. They told me the ambulance should have put a EKG on me regardless of whether I was sweating they could have wiped me off. And they were taking me to Chandler hospital because they knew that Casa Grande didn't have a cath lab which they said the others blood cut off to my heart place should have done too! I had 2 more stents put in. Now on April 20th I have to get a 2 lead ICD pacemaker put in. Due to the damage of heart so long. I will now always be in heart failure which only gets worse with time and eventually winds up terminal. Which may have been avoided if ambulance attendants wouldn't have wasted so much time trying to convince me I was having a panic attack! I it shouldn't be the person's job that's having a heart attack to convince them that it is One just because they are female and symptoms are different. I'm not usually a complainer, and have never called ambulance before. Just because I wasn't crying didn't mean I wasn't in serious pain, like I said I was as I clutched my chest telling them. Now at 56, my life will be shortened because they didn't take me seriously. I hope they don't do the same to you!

My husband s pacer defibrillator activated after he suffered severe shortness of breath this morning. I called 911 and the Casa Grande AMR and the Casa Grande Fire Department quickly responded .... although he had revived and was awake, he was assisted and transported to Banner Medial Center . The responders had all equipment available and ready for use and quickly and efficiently transported him to the ambulance and the ER. Two of the responders were so kind to tell me they would take good care of him, even asking me if I was okay. I am so grateful as he was diagnosed with four major health concerns which brought on the cardiac event. I don t know who you all are, but I want you to know how very grateful we are for your professionalism, expertise, empathy and service. As a registered nurse, I understand the many pressures you work under, both expected and unexpected. Thank you so very, very much for being here for us this morning.
