I only give FNB one star because zero stars isn't an option. Honestly this has been the worst bank I have ever dealt with and I'm no spring chicken. Deposits are held up constantly. First off, Checks are held up before being included in your balance for two weeks....even if they have cleared. I deposited a large check from a 401K account and even after the check had cleared, FNB STILL would not add it to my balance...unless I got written proof from the 401K bank that it had cleared. THEN, when I offered that proof, I had to request the regional manager's contact info before they would add it to my balance.
Prior to that, I made a large deposit and was told that a portion of it would be available the next day, but the rest would be on hold for weeks. Since I was told that a portion would be available, I did not withhold anything from the deposit...assuming that I'd have access to that "portion". Next day came and cards were declined, and things were bouncing. My husband went to the bank to investigate and was told that the teller that told us we would have access to part of our funds was mistaken. They said they were sorry, but would do nothing. They lied and said they had "tried to call" to let us know. No missed calls or voicemails were found.
Even when paychecks are direct deposited in the morning, they are not added to your balance until next business day. Of course, they will deduct things, in an effort to try and rack up fees for things you THOUGHT were covered by your paycheck.
On weekends, debits are deducted in duplicate so that they can make you unknowingly rack up charges.
The ATM is frequently out of order. Replacement debit cards are $20 a pop. Our account is always wonky with no explanation.
Don't walk...RUN from this bank.
I've never felt like a bank was adversarial, until now. What an awful experience.
