AVOID AT ALL COSTS
HORRIBLE COMPANY, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have been trying to get reimbursement on a claim for A YEAR. I've called dozens of times and spoken with dozens and dozens of employees in several different departments. I've been told conflicting information, been given incorrection instructions on how to refile, been told REPEATEDLY that I'd see the check in 10-15 days, but here we are a year later and STILL NO CHECK. I've called Delta Dental almost monthly, but here is a rundown of my last few calls:
2/21 - I was told the claim form was correct this time but not attached correctly within their system. They told me they would attach the form and resubmit to adjusters, and I'd see check in 10-15 days.
4/13 - Called again and was transferred to three different people before all my info was taken again and I was told, AGAIN, that I would receive check in 10-15 days.
5/4 - Still no check, called again and was told nothing was submitted after my April phone call!? They will resubmit it AGAIN.
5/12 - Called to follow up and make sure they had actually resubmitted everything, but this time (after OVER AN HOUR on the phone), I was told that the corrected claim form they received from my dental office MONTHS ago was NOT filled out correctly. This is a direct contradiction to what I've been told for the last 3 months, and makes no sense because my dental office has also been in contact with Delta Dental and they were given step by step instructions on how to resubmit the claim correctly. So now I need to go back to my dental office AGAIN to have them resubmit YET ANOTHER claim, just to check a box that says "Not a Duplicate." Which Delta Dental is obviously already aware of after the dozens of phone calls and hours of time that we've spent talking about the issue. This is absolutely ridiculous. This is not the first time I've had issues receiving a claim check, but usually it "only" takes a couple months to sort it out. But this time, Delta Dental has LIED to me repeatedly about the status of my claim. They have completely failed to provide any level of satisfactory customer service. They are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau, or I already would have filed a complaint against them.

Absolutely terrible for Veterans, beware if you intend on enrolling into the VA Dental Insurance Program. They apparently canceled my coverage that was setup through auto-pay without even giving me notification. No phone call, no email, no letter stating the reason. I am now stuck again paying for a bill that the Veterans programs have failed at miserably. First mistake was Aspen Dental, they will pull money from Veterans pockets and cover their story so the VA sides with the provider.

Every time I call it takes over a hour and a half to speak to a HUMAN being! I’ve been more than patient and understanding because of COVID but theirs customer service is extremely poor not to mention the waiting periods.. Just find someone else especially if you need dental care quickly.

Is it possible to give zero stars? I have Delta Dental as secondary dental insurance. Filed claim after filing with BCBS, primary carrier. Advised it takes up to 30 days to process claim. I called a couple of times checking on claim and was told they needed documentation showing when primary policy went into effect. Gee, I would have never known you needed additional information had I not called. Sent requested info immediately. Denied the claim and then started re-processing it in order to start the 30-day processing time over. BCBS paid my claim within 72 hours of receipt. What is wrong with these buffoons at Delta Dental that they cannot get a simple claim processed? Rude customer service as well. Thumbs down from me!

Payed for dental insurance for almost 2 years never used it. Due to pandemic I was put on leave and the first check I received going back to work delta dental took the whole amount of my check and left $3 on my card. Not to mention someone who pays for 2 years should be a valued customer and there should be no need to take somebody’s last dime. I will not recommend this insurance company to anyone! And to Delta Dental don’t take someone’s last dime and then make it impossible to get someone on the phone. Un-professional!!
