After 52 emails to the claims department, filing complaints with the Insurance Commissioner, the Attorney General and The Better Business Bureau Safeco finally reversed their finding of 60% liability on my part and determined the other driver was 100% liable. They refused to answer my questions, refused to view definitive pictures I submitted, lied about non existent state laws that allegedly supported their finding, and manipulated my rental car resulting in 4 days of rental costs out of pocket that were clearly defined as a benefit of my policy. Within days of paying the repair shop they raised my premium by almost $300.

This place was fine until my auto pay failed. 3 years on auto pay for car insurance paying 300 dollars per month, not including my mortgage insurance that I pay with my home payment. Not to mention zero claims in that time. One mix up with the bank I get a double payment and no ability to set up an arrangement. Oh well I'll finish out this year and they will lose a customer. I'll give my money to a company that values their customers .

Your company assured me that my truck that was tboned by a driver insured with your company who admitted responsibility for causing the accident from day 1 that they would reimburse me due to the fact that my mechanic wouldn't bill you directly because according to him your company nevers pays what is fairly charged so with the promise of reimbursement from your rep I paid almost 13 grand... 2 and a half months later and 100 phone calls and 1000 messages later your company gave me 3700 dollars 2100 of which was for my rental car costs 1600 dollars is what I was paid back of the 10 grand I spent fixing my truck that I have over 40 grand invested into!!! Iam a 3 tour combat veteran of the united states army Rangers and have never been so disappointed and appalled by a companies lack of integrity and respect for those they work with a complete and utterly disregard for dignity and simple common courtesy. I will not stop until your company makes this right and I promise you I will cost you far more than the 10 grand you ripped me off for... in fact I'm sure I've already cost you 5 times that just in the last week and I will not stop I have more resources than you could ever have imagined when you chose to rip me off this will not end well for you if you make it right I'll adjust my views and reviews and complaints along with all the social media content that's going viral this very second

I wish I’d checked these reviews sooner. Safeco added a 20-yo male I’d never met to my auto insurance policy. I guess I missed the document Safeco mailed asking if that person lived there. I didn’t get it so they unilaterally made the decision to double the cost of my premiums. I had to report them to the WA State Insurance Commission to get any traction on finding a solution. I hope this saves someone else the hassle of dealing with this very shady company.

Insurance is borderline a fraudulent industry as it is, but this company is intentionally fraudulent without even being subtle. When you request vital policy info that you legally have access to, they tell you that they don’t know that info until your policy renews as you pay more. Beyond that, I was struck IN THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE by a deer. The expert who assessed the damage agreed it was a deer, said it was plain as day; wrote a report saying this was definitely an animal impact etc. safeco came back after “submitting the info to two external damage specialists” and “determined” that this was an at fault collision with no animal involved. Again, the only person to look at the vehicle in person knew beyond a shadow of doubt that this was a deer impact as he’s seen many before.

Safeco does everything it can to withhold info they’re not allowed to withhold. They will treat your claims fraudulently. Their number one goal is to take your money will doing their utmost to ensure they never have to fulfill their end of your insurance contract. Save yourself the time and never do business with this criminal organization posing as an insurance provider.

DO NOT GET YOUR INSURANCE POLICY THROUGH THIS COMPANY!

If I could give them negative stars I would. We were rear ended by one of their clients. It was agreed by all parties that we weren't at fault, and three months later we are still trying to get compensated for the costs we incurred due to the accident.

I used a broker to get insurance and they signed me up with Safeco. Or also known as Liberty Mutual. Don't try to ever talk with them it is near impossible. Don't file a claim with them they will not attempt to help you. I would say just pay them and don't ever expect anything from them is the best policy in dealing with them. But even this theory is bad when they over charge you and there is no body to talk to about the over payment and the broker you used acts like it is a inconvenience to speak with you because it was not their money. I would like to give my Broker and Safeco 0 stars but 1 will have to do. Remember if you expect the worse or nothing from them it can only get better from here. I hope this helps anyone from making the mistake I did.

Safeco insurance is an absolute joke. I highly don't recommend these ppl at all. They used a claim that I made for my vehicle and then turned around 2 years later and said I was at fault for an accident for hitting a pot hole in the road that I had no clue about. They jacked my claim up so high that I my insurance was almost as much as my car payment. And I have a clean driving record. So glad to be done with these idiots.
