Kevin Chinook has done our taxes for the last 5 plus years. We moved out of state & overnight all our tax info to him/Felicia or Sonia. I always request a call after Kevin Chinook completes our taxes & has not ever called after figuring our taxes! Usually I get an email or phone call back if I leave a message for Felicia. She is usually good to return my calls. But have never spoke to Kevin to answer multiple questions about some figure that are alarming!
We thought this was a very reputable company when we first started coming to Police Tax and now feel completely the opposite!
Google the other reviews to get a better idea of how they handle their clients after charging a $575.00 fee😡

Disappointed with my last visit. I requested an appointment to get my taxes done in November, his secretary gave me a date for early April at 1pm. I showed up about 5 minutes early and was asked to come in and speak to one of his associates fairly quickly; the associate was rude and in a rush to gather all my information. Around 1:30 she had me step out and said it would be a while before I was able to speak to Kevin, when I asked for an estimated time she said 4:30pm so I went on my way and came back at 4:30pm. I didn’t get to see Kevin until 9pm, there were people in the lobby walking in who were told to come back that night from the day before, there was another lady who had her appointment at 10:30am and didn’t see him until 7pm, there was also a couple of people who walked in saying they were waiting for a phone call to come back and never received one so they took it amongst themselves to come back. There were about 5 associates assisting Kevin but none of them could make a courtesy call to these people? The wait time and lack of communication was despicable, on top of that I paid $685 when last year I paid $500 for the same service. I will not be coming back.

Kevin is absolutely wonderful. I receive my refund in 2 weeks and the wait time in San Dimas was 45 mins tops. Thank you for always taking care of me and my family Police Tax.

STAY AWAY! I have come to Police Tax for 8 years. I knew I would have to wait to get my taxes done but it has gotten worse and worse. If you have an appointment plan on waiting at least 4 hours.

This year, I dropped my taxes off to be filed and was told they would be finished in 7-15 business days. It’s now 46 days later and past the deadline. When you call, they take your message and it never gets returned. I’ve called 6 times, left messages and emails and still no response.

Kevin, has been our accountant tax preparer for many years in San Dimas, California. Yes, time wait is long but, it’s totally worth it. He’s professional and knowledgeable. Many tax preparer have always taken a long time especially if you are filling the long form. I’ll never go to anyone else. Thank you to your staff and for always thinking of your clients your generosity is appreciated by proving snacks, drinks and a movie while we wait.

This unfortunately has become a tax mill. Expect to wait at least 4 hours after you appointment time because they overbook to squeeze every possible dollar out of the day. Also, They charge more than average for this mess. Nail in the coffin, if you want to ask a simple tax question be prepared to pay an additional $295 "consultation fee." Police tax was good, not anymore. With the new tax law, taxes are more straightforward. Last year I went elsewhere and received similar return and with much better service at half the price.

I have used Dave with police tax for the past few years. Dave is very knowledgeable about tax law and was able to help me with transitioning to a new state. Dave has always taken the time to answer all my questions and G.I. has given suggestions for the following tax year. Even moving out of California I still use him as he makes the process easy with email and phone. I will still continue to use Dave in the future as I know I can trust his tax expertise.

I did not receive my refund since mid March 2019 it is now May 1 I’ve called this company a total of three times with no call back. I just got off the phone with their appointment center and left another message and was told that she cannot give me a direct line to the San Dimas office. Therefore she will just notate that I have left my third message and I am told to try emailing or faxing for a possible response. She also stated that my previous messages were received by my preparer but I have not been contacted for whatever reason. Unacceptable!!! Doing your taxes through a third-party they should be a liaison between you and IRS (I mean this is why you were paid) and sadly they Cannot simply return a phone call.
