Reviews of anything that isn't food/entertainment related are going to have a huge selection bias for the type of people mad enough to log in and post one star.

They've been good to me though. Water's fine, autopay works and they send the paper bill every month. When my card was reissued and I forgot to fix autopay, they called before the late fee kicked in and we got it worked out.

I usually would not do this but it needs to be said. This company can afford to be absolutely horrible because it is a monopoly. They do not care at all for their customers. They verbally told me that when I moved, they would cut off the water at the end of the month. I paid everything ahead and figured it was fine. 2 months later, I got a notice that not only was it still turned on and being used by someone else, but it is also overdue to be paid (which I NEVER do, I pay an auto draft or ahead of time always). I tried to explain it to them and they were not hearing it. The office was filled with absolute bottom-line customer care and concern. So glad we moved. I feel sorry for the people forced to use them. I rank them right up there with WOW Internet and Comcast/Xfinity.

This business is not one that cares about their customers and their needs, but I guess that's what happens when the consumer has no other options for their utility companies. I was unaware that my bill went unpaid last month, simple mistake with it being Christmas. $35 late fee for a bill I thought I had paid (until the water was cut off), $50 to have my water turned on, and they will not turn the water back on until the bill is paid in full. How does this help the customer that is going through a financial crisis? The lady gave me two numbers to call to businesses that supposedly help customers with their utilities, but both numbers were disconnected. I called back to see if there was something else they could do for me, and all they could do was repeat how it's their "policy." I've never dealt with a company that didn't have options for customers dealing with a financial crisis. They don't care about their customers or their needs for that matter. I have three kids, no money, and if it weren't for my gracious church, no water. They expect to get their money, no matter what the customer has to do to get it.

This has to be the worst experience with a utility that I have ever encountered. If it weren't bad enough that I lost my Mom. Try to get the bill sent to my house has been ridiculous. I paid the January bill and requested that the next bill be sent to my address, not only did they not send me a statement the cut off the water. Now after numerous calls and emails I have to apply for a new application of service! After sending a copy of the death certificate and a copy of the will! All I wanted to do was pay the bill. I don't live in Elmore county and I struggle with the loss of my Mother! Infuriating experience!

This company is WORTHLESS!!! I was travelling for ~6 weeks. Come home to find my water disconnected. I pay the exorbitant charges to reconnect; account paid in full--zero balance!

Next bill, less than 4 weeks from paying off the account and having a zero balance and I'm past due again!?

Alabama Public Service Comission, here I come! This thievery needs to stop.

They changed out my meter that same day I was not home the line on my side busted at meter that said it was on my side not there problem I had to pay a $500 water bill because of it

Our bill kept increasing, so we called to have them come out to take a look. They refused and insisted it was a leaky toilet, since we have a leak indicator on our account. Thanks for calling and telling us! A week later we finally get someone out and he replaces the meter because it isn't working properly. We did have a leak, in the main line, got it fixed and a week later these geniuses call us to tell us that our bill is higher than usual because we might have a leak.

Terrible attitude and the fees are outrageous, especially when the people they serve a great majority are on fixed income. Terrible
